Whatever happened to free blogging on wordpress?

  I want a free blog but it’s asking me to pay. Whatever happened to free blogs on wordpress which is what my other 3 are?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Still free –

  I have not registered a new blog in a long time but from forum reports WordPress.COM is getting a bit more aggressive on the up-sell – just don’t click on any upgrade link when they are looking for a custom anything and for sure no credit card info – and if something goes wrong and you do have some charge you can always get a refund

  But it comes down to:
  you can have a very nice blog or website hosted here for free without any upgrades. You are not required to take advantage of any of the upgrade offers which now are more prominent than in the past.e

  Yeah.
  …and you see the typo in my little post.…

  It’s just that I recently bought something w/o reading the “fine print” and, well, it would have been better to use the reading glasses before spending the big bucks… “live and learn” but sometimes learning costs more than you expect!
