What's a portfolio? What's a project? What are they for?

    The support pages (http://en.support.wordpress.com/portfolios/) assume readers know. I really don’t know what WordPress means by projects and portfolios. What are they? How are they used? Why/when should I use them? Are there examples you can show? thx.

    Hi Phil,

    The Portfolio function and Projects are another way in which people can post content. They are specifically designed for people who want to show off their creative content, which is why they are named this way.

    I find that it’s easiest to think of Projects as being just like Posts. They behave in much the same way: they have tags and categories, just like Posts. They are posted in reverse chronological order. They just have a different name.
