What's all this about a Gravatar account?
-
I’m the volunteer webmaster on a site for residents of a senior citizens home. I selected WordPress mainly for its simplicity, particularly in posting comments (“click and post”), ideal for dealing with elderly people who tend to have minimal computer skills. All was fine until this morning, when I realized that resident postings had stopped.
The problem is that when trying to leave a comment, a new screen sequence opens up telling the user they need to set up a Gravatar account. With their level of computer skills, there is no way the residents will be able to this. How do I eliminate this requirement; i.e., get the comment posting process back to where it was…incredibly simple? Thanks.

Did you know that your Gravatar.com account has always been a WordPress.com account? It’s true. http://blog.gravatar.com/2013/04/03/gravatar-and-wordpress-com-together-forever/

tt,
You found my earlier post….at least it taught me not to explain why I was asking! (no-one answered) I had seen that link, that’s why I wanted to get Gravatar out of the picture.
Yes, that link you gave me earlier solved my “newest post first” problem as well as the Gravatar problem.
Again, many thanks.
