What's happened to the 'sharing' function?

    Hi. I used to have the option to ‘share’ my blogpost a little while ago. I liked this, it was straight forward. I just blogged and wanted to ‘share’ but couldn’t in the old way. Have gone through the Publicize readjustments but can’t find evidence, on Facebook/Twitter etc. that I have actually managed to share my post. Most frustrating. Please help ASAP as when I post I really want it to count. Thanks. Stephaniegerra.com

    Hi Stephanie,

    It looks like you just added the Publicize connections 6 hours ago. However, when I visit your latest post, I don’t see any of the individual social media accounts checked. You can see this here:

    Just look on the right-hand side of that page under Publicize (click “Edit”). For the post to be sent out to your social networks, each network will need to be checked there prior to the post being published. Can you give that a try on your next post?

    Thanks Jeremy. I had done both but nothing appeared on today’s blog…?

    And, what is so vexing is that previously I at least had twitter, FB and LinkedIn set up at the bottom of my page – why did that function just disappear. And…not sure the advice given will work as, as I said, I tried it earlier…hmm?

    Hi there,

    I’m not sure why the posts weren’t Publicized to your social networks. It looks like all of your social networks are currently setup correctly. Please make sure the networks are checked before you publish your next post, and let’s see if this begins working again!

    As for the Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn buttons, the function didn’t disappear. For some reason, the sharing icons were just removed from your sharing settings. You can re-add them by following the instructions here:

    Add Social Share Buttons (Classic Themes)

    Once you re-add them, they should appear at the bottom of every post!
