What's happening to the admin strip?
-
In my “Edit Comments” screen, but not elsewhere, some items which used to appear in the admin strip have recently moved to the space below it, unnecessarily cluttering the screen. The space in the admin strip where they used to be is now blank. And unlike the well-behaved admin strip, the newly moved items show up in the middle of the comments when I’m scrolling through them.
The moved items are: (1) a “Go Premium” button, which I don’t need to see; (2) the pencil icon for “New Post,” which presumably will take me to Beep Beep Boop, where I don’t want to go; (3) the notifications button; and (4) a thumbnail of my gravitar. Why aren’t they in the admin strip, where they used to be? Is this some new “improvement”? If so, what purpose does it serve?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Without prior announcement or consultation with those who the changes will impact, Staff are working on it yet again under the banner of improving our blogging experience. As far as what purpose these things serve goes I assume they keep some Staff busy. ;)

This is ridiculous! All those misplaced buttons are in the way! This is an obvious malfunction. It’s gotta get fixed.

I agree that something`s amiss with that for sure.
-
Now it’s worse. When the notifications button lights up and it’s clicked on, the information window has been narrowed, so we can’t see the blue dots to know what’s new and what isn’t.

I’m not seeing that using Chrome on a Macbook. What browsers and versions are you using?

I’m using Firefox 33 on Windows 7 and do not have any issues.

Now the notifications pop up window is back to normal. The programmers must be amusing themselves. But the stuff moved from the admin strip is still out of place and in the way.

What are your browser size and screen resolution details please? http://supportdetails.com
-
I donno the resolution. The screen is 14 inches wide, and the browser window is about a half-inch less than that. My setup hasn’t changed. It’s gotta be the WordPress software.

Hi there!
I’m happy to help you with this. Can you please take a screenshot of the broken admin bar and upload it to your Media Library?
It would also be helpful if you could visit the link timethief posted and let us know what is listed under “Screen Resolution”.
-
According to timethief’s link, the screen resolution is 1280 x 720, and the browser size is 1208 x 517.
The screen shot is in my media library. It’s named “screenshot.”

It looks like you’ve resized the content of your window bigger than 100%, which can affect the way a page is displayed. Here are some steps to reset your zoom in Firefox:
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/font-size-and-zoom-increase-size-of-web-pages
Please let me know if that doesn’t not fix your admin bar.
-
Yes, when I reset the size of the edit comments page, the admin bar is intact. But I usually have the blog’s home page and the stats page enlarged in other open tabs, and the admin bar remains intact there. And it has never changed before in the edit comments page, which I’ve always kept enlarged.
Anyway, now I can get rid of the problem, and I thank you. But it’s still something new and peculiar, and it only happens in that one page.
