What's On?

I’ve just set up a new blog, http://www.australiawhatson.com but I might have chosen the wrong template. What I endeavour to do is a very simple and good looking blog with the topic, What’s on Australia, which I’ve done. However, then I want to add pages for the different states and I’ve added them under category, Sydney, Melbourne, South Australia,l Western Australia,l Northern Territory, Queensland, Canberra but they do not show up on the front page. I would like to have them all there under the Topic so it’s easy for the visitor to go to the state he or she would like to visit. Any suggestions?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If you’re going to add posts, not pages, then you need to go to Apperance>Widgets and add the Categories widget to your footer.

Or you can go to Appearance>Menus and create a custom menu that will display your post categories in the top menu (under the blog title). But this won’t look good if you have many categories.

If you mean you want them to show up under each post on the front page, then you need a different theme.

Also you should know that until you publish at least one post assigned to a category there is nothing for the category widget to show.

That is, you must write a post about Canberra in order for the “Canberra” catergory to appear.

As you have it set up now, your navigation is showing pages, not posts, about each state. As Panos said, you can have a custom menu with post categories on the top navigation.

Take a look at the difference between posts and pages:
