What’s the difference, and the important between blog Link and website hosting

  I have a blog operating on Free mode and I want to upgrade it to Start earnings, I was advised to also develope My website for the blogg. My question is this, if I paid for the annual charges of the blog, while the page still useful when I develope My official website?
