What’s the difference between a click and a view?

I’m an absolute greenhorn re blogging, so I’m feeling my way on even the most elementary issues. Have looked for a glossary of terms used by WordPress, but haven’t found it so far.
So, (1) Is there a glossary somewhere on the site?
    (2) If not, then what is the difference–as WordPress defines it–between a click and a view? The reason I’m confused is that, thus far, I’ve received a few hundred “views,” but have been told I haven’t yet had any “clicks.” I had been assuming that a view meant that someone had used a searchword which yielded up a “view” of my site title and tag; but that only if I were credited with a “click” could I assume that they’d been interested enough to click on it and at least take a look at the body. However, I’ve received comments which indicated several people have actually read it through–and yet that didn’t, somehow, register as a “click.” Something’s not adding up.

Clicks on your stats page are when people click on links on your blog to LEAVE your blog. Clicks don’t include any time people click on links to your blog, or from one spot to another within it.

A view is when someone loads the page on your blog.

What is a hit? In web analytics, a hit is any request for a file from a web server. By request means a hit calculates page content delivered, all images to complete that page, and any additional files that need to be loaded to make the web page you are looking at, appear the way it does.

Clicks These are external links that appear on your blog, and are actually clicked by your readers. These may be (but are not limited to):
    * Links you add to your post and page content.
    * Links placed in comments by your readers.
    * Links that appear in your blogroll.
    * Links attached to the names of users who comment on your blog.
    * links to possibly related posts.
    * Links to advertising run on our blogs by wordpress.com
    .
What is a page view? A page view is a request to load a single page of an internet site that results from a page request from a web surfer clicking on a link on another HTML page which is pointing to the page in question.

What is a unique visitor? A unique visitor is access from a single IP to a web server that generates page views and hits during a particular visit. When a visitor has cookies disabled, there is no way of establishing if they are a unique visitor or not.
