what's the difference between wp.org and wp.com using the bundle.

seems a bit of deceptive advertising. I thought wp.com comes with (free) hosting, and that if I don’t want wp in my domain name i pay an extra $18.00. i don’t want adds. So, if I’m paying for the hosting and the bundle, $100 why not get wp.org which includes all that. I don’t know the cost.

That is correct. If that’s all you want to do, you don’t need the bundle. You’re welcome to keep a free blog if you’d like, or pay $18/year if you want a domain name, or pay $99/year if you want all of the features in the bundle.

If you want to go self-hosted with WordPress.org, there is no cost to use the software, but your hosting provider will charge you either monthly or annually, you’ll still have to pay for the domain, and you’ll also have to take care of the maintenance and updates on your own installation.
