What's the fastest way to get the plugin I want to use?
-
I started a WP.com site couple of weeks ago. I need a plugin – mybooktable, it has already been requested a couple of times in the idea section. I thought to cancel my WP.com and move my domain to another host. No can do. The domain has to be active for 60 days before it can be transferred.
I read about leaving the domain where it is and pointing the DNS elsewhere. That I can do, but does that also mean the hosting part of my WP.com is still active?
The ideal would be if I could get a refund on the site minus the domain fee and point the DNS for the 60 days and then do the transfer to the new host. Is that possible? Suggestions are welcome. Thanks. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You are correct that you cannot transfer the custom domain to another registrar until 60 days have passed. That’s an ICANN regulation. You can however, manage the domain from here and point the DNS pointers to a different webhost. https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/change-name-servers/
You can then make your WordPress.com website Private in Settings> Reading Settings to make it inaccessible to the public and keep it out of search engines. https://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/
I don’t recommend deleting your WPcom site entirely because once deleted, you will never be able to recover and reuse that URL in the future.
If you are still within the 30-day refund period and need Staff assistance in helping with a refund for anything other than the custom domain name, please add a MODLOOK tag to the sidebar of this forum thread.

Hi there,
I just cancelled and refunded your Premium plan, minus the cost of your domain naneaknott.com. You can follow the steps in our guide to Change Name Servers to point your domain to your new host.
Please let me know if I can do anything more to help with that. :)
