what’s the point of my “incoming links”?

When I post on other sites using Open ID (my WP url), I occasionally get my own posts back as “incoming links.” It’s not like there were any replies so what’s the point? Should I be posting this on blogspot? TIA

The point of incoming links is to show links to your blog. If your OpenID is showing up, that’s a flaw but one working to your advantage, since it’s helping your Google ranking.

Thank you raincoaster. Google Alerts do the same thing. I get “alerted” when my name turns up on my own blog. But if it’s helping my Google ranking, I have no complaints : )
