Hello, I was about to check out and realizing there’re options there. Mind me asking the difference between the following,
    WordPress.com Personal
    Plan Subscription: $48 per year

    Remove from cart
    Domain Registration: billed annually
    Discount for first year

What do you offer with the Personal plan? If I am going to choose the Domain registration only, how much is it going to be for the second year and moving forward?

    Thanks n looking forwards

    WP.com: Yes
    Correct account: Yes

  • Hi there,

If you buy a domain registration only, that’s all you get – just a domain. Traffic to the domain will redirect to your free example.wordpress.com address, but the free address will remain visible in the browser’s address bar. You’ll pay the full cost for the domain at purchase, and the domain will renew at the same amount each year, barring any pricing changes on our end (if there is a pricing change, we’ll notify you via email well in advance of the renewal date).

The Personal Plan will allow you to set the domain as the primary address on your site, i.e. the browser address bar will show the domain instead of the free address, and search engines will index your site at the domain as well. The Personal Plan will also remove ads from your site, add 3GB additional media storage for a total of 6GB, give you access to private support via email, and give you access to our payments and premium content blocks, allowing you to sell subscriptions to content on your site.

If you buy an annual plan, the domain registration is included in the cost, with the renewal being extra from the second year onwards. The renewal cost will depend on the domain – for a .com domain it’s $18 a year. You can see the renewal cost of the different domains we offer here:
