what’s the worst theme in your opinion?

I’m just rolling on the floor laughing out here. This is the most revealing theme discussion we have ever had.

    (1) I hate, loathe and despise “skinny blogs”. IMO they resemble shopping lists. Put some hearts and flowers on them in *BLEEDING* colours and give them *BLACK* side panels and – well, I’m wretching in the corner.

    (2) I don’t like themes that scream “I’m a girl” due to their decorative “bits”.

    (2) I like warm colours and there are a predominance of cold coloured themes. I’m particularly tired of blue and white. I long to be able to choose themes with warm colours like brown, rust, tomato red, gold and cream.

    (3) Like wank I am sick sick sick to death of the over-used default theme. And when we aren’t seeing it well what we’re seeing is the sickly greenish “connections” – yech! I tried it for a awhile but even changing the header didn’t eliminate the green moldy cast to it.

    (4) “Supposedly clean” is lame – it has no widgets. All themes without a full slate of widgets are lame.

    (5) Girl in green is not only lame no widgets but it’s a horrid colour and the body language of female being depicted is that of a low self esteem teen.

    (6) “Hemingway” has great potential if only it had a complete set of widgets.

    (7) Unlike wank who likes pink I’m with sulz, I’m not a pink lover but some shades of rose can be nice.

    (8) I would be tempted to use “silver is the new black” if the sidebar letters were not as wank points out capitalized.

    (9) “Benevolence” has potential but looks crammed, has black sides and *RED* font highlights – yech!

    (10) “Neat” has ugly *DARK* sides.

    11. “Blix” does allow for a customized header but if you put one in that does have a white background you are sentenced to looking at a white three sided frame around it.

Just to agree with what TT says above, but I also hate Hemingway.

I don’t like (I’ve moaned about it in a few blog posts) when the blog forces the reader (by default) to click the read more to read the whole post. I don’t have a problem with “read more” itself, I wrote and incredibly long post on my main blog that needed it, but not by default thanks.

I also prefer more than one half of one post on the screen. That way I don’t have to click to read older posts just from the title and can scroll down to read (even four or five posts). If I like what I read from there I’ll dig.

Don’t have that option with Hemingway.

BTW – I’m NOT a girl and don’t mind some pink. It’s gotta be subtle and not in-yer-face dayglo. The text background on Sweet blossoms isn’t bad, but the loud sides just don’t do it for me. Except on Gay Thursday of course… ;)

i like hemmingway. i use it on my site. i like the design that sticks all that menu stuff on the bottom rather than clogging up my sidebar.

yes, i would like widget support too. i live in hope.

Any theme without widget customization. I ignore them completely.

In fact, I don’t care much for any of themes here, although White as Milk and Dusk. If pressed, I say my least favorite theme is Benevolence. Actually, I really go for it – it is a very austere and clean theme. I would have adopted it; if it wasn’t for the lack of the tagline, lack of bullets and a weird glitch that cause the comment boxes to cut off to the right.

Oh well – Kurbick is fine. A custom image header would nice, but it’s not a dealbreaker for me.

Yeah I am an hemingway fan.. I would like widgets for that theme.
