What's wrong with the widget functionality on WordPress.com? Widgets won't show
-
Widgets aren’t appearing correctly on the website.
I tried to add a widget from the crowdfunding platform Crowdrise, but that didn’t show up. I made it sort of work by using an image widget of our logo that takes you to Crowdrise if you click it, but that looks terrible.
I can’t even get the built-in social widgets to show up. The Facebook Like widget and the Twitter Feed widget aren’t showing up at all in my sidebar.
I cleared my cache. Widgets are enabled. That’s not the problem.
Please let me know what I’m missing here.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
For Crowdrise, it depends on what code you are using on the widget. These are the only allowed ones:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/#html-tagsI do see your Facebook and Twitter widget correctly so I don’t think you have a problem there.
Hope that helps!

You can see the Facebook and Twitter widgets in the right sidebar? Do you know why I can’t?
I also can’t see any of the social sharing buttons on the posts themselves.

This is the widget code

Hi,
This is the widget code Fundraising Websites - Crowdrise<script type="text/javascript" src="https://www.crowdrise.com/widgets/donate/fundraiser/216542/"></script>JavaScript is not allowed on WordPress.com blogs:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/#javascriptHave you tried a different browser?
You can download an updated version of your browser here: http://browsehappy.com/ -
On the posts itself, you have to click the title of the post to see the sharing buttons.
If you look at this post,
http://philadelphiacommunitycorps.org/2014/09/11/the-philadelphia-community-corps-is-back/
the sharing button is at the bottom of the post. -
I can’t see the sharing buttons. I even signed out of WordPress and checked, but they weren’t there.

I figured it out. AdBlocker was keeping a social media widgets from showing. Well at least that is figured out.
But is there no solution for non-wordpress widgets?
-
Hi,
Unfortunately, JavaScript is not supported so maybe you can ask Crowdrise if they have an embed code that is WordPress.com friendly.
Again, here are the allowed codes here in WordPress.com:

You can also look through http://wpbtips.wordpress.com to see if panos has come up with a workaround. He has for a lot of things.
