whats your idea on ads

  • Unknown's avatar

    Good morning :)

I tried to use Adsense on my wp.com but found out its not supported. Since I`ve seen a lot of .com blogs with ads I wonder how you get past the not-supported and make it work?

Do you have to be in direct contact with the website/company you want to point ads to?

-any tips or ideas on how to do this in the best way is most apreciated :)

Advertisements, including those from third-party advertising networks like Google AdSense, OpenX, Lijit, BuySellAds, and Vibrant Media are not allowed on WordPress.com.

If you would like to run these types of ads on your blog, consider the following options:

    • We have a feature called WordAds that lets WordPress.com bloggers with moderate to high traffic and appropriate content turn on ads and earn money from their blogs.
    • You can run any ads you’d like if you manage your own WordPress installation. More info, including hosting recommendations, can be found at get.wp.com.
    • WordPress.com VIP sites are permitted to run ads.

    More info: https://en.support.wordpress.com/advertising/

At WordPress.com, we sometimes display advertisements on your blog to help pay the bills. This keeps free features free!

To eliminate ads on your blog entirely, you can purchase our WordPress.com Premium or WordPress.com Business plans. This is especially attractive and useful to business blogs in order to eliminate any possibility of competitors’ ads displaying on their domains.

Note: VIP and WordAds users/blogs are able to run their own ads, but standard accounts are not. See this page on advertising for more information on running ads on your blog. In addition, this does not remove the WordPress.com footer credit.

I feel like a sinner just because I want specific ads on my website haha :)

I dont have a big crowd, yet, but the few ones that visit are specially interested – that goes for the ads I want to use also. Not really interested in a random-ads-system that generate the ads for me, like adsense which I used as an example in TS – not Wordads either.

So since I dont have moderate/high traffic I cannot do this – that is something I dont understand the reason for.

I guess the solution is to get in contact with the specific website I want to have ads for, then make a deal with them, insert an image that links to their website and write “Ad” on top of it.

I mean, I am allowed to link my images to anywhere on the web right?

Please read what elte has written above as well as the link he provided.

If you want to run banner advertising on your site, you will want to look at hosting a standalone install of the WP software.

@kjeg2015 – read jen’s advice above – what you want to do will get your site suspended – no notice required

Most banner advertising doesn’t work nowadays, especially with the increasing of ad blocker installed in browser. Alternatively, you can try sponsored post, which is allowed in certain extent.

Many many thanks Elite. Someone said that WordPress does not allows any advertising. As I have no budget to invest in a hosting program, I decided to go for Blogspot. But, now I am clear enough.
