Wheel of death in Chrome, please help

Hi there,
My blog won’t load in Chrome or Safari, though it works in internet explorer (really slowly).
I thought it was a problem with my laptop but other people have been having the same issue when trying to get onto my site.
Could anyone help?

I have been having an issue today with sites using the Baskerville theme loading slowly, but ironically your site loaded in a snap for me.

Hi Jennifer, how strange that it worked on yours. What were you browsing on? It’s been going on for a few days and I thought it was my computer. But it’s not working on a load of other people’s either in various browsers. It works on tablets and phones but slowly.

P.S. Your site loaded instantly for me. I’m on a PC and I’m a Firefox 40 user. Chrome was too problematic for me. Every update to it caused issues that peeved me off so I went back to using Firefox.

Thanks Timethief, the trouble is that it’s stopping other people being able to get on to the site. Am worried about that because have had a few really big traffic days recently after being featured blog so am gutted to be missing out on new readers.

Hmm… I’m on Mac and not working in various. My boy’s on PC and won’t load on his either and various other people from lots of other places have told me they can’t get it open. That’s what makes me worry it’s not just a browser issue. Any more advice hugely appreciated though. Thanks

Just to note that I visited your site in latest Chrome on my PC/Win7Pro.
As I said, Baskerville has been loading very slowly in general for me today.

He was very nice & helpful but couldn’t see problem from his end. Did speed tests etc and all ok. Still having troubles though but found another forum thread that suggests it is something to do with a Twitter plug in/widget. Disabled my social media plugins in sidebar/footer and is a bit better. From elsewhere it sounds like this could be a broader Twitter issue. It comes up with a ‘waiting for cdn.api Twitter’ message. Sound familiar? Many thanks

Where the twitter timeline widget was involved, the related site didn’t load at all for me either in Chrome.
Your site is still the fastest loading site using Baskerville that I’ve visited. (Loaded in less than 2 seconds for me, even after clearing out my browser cache and cookies.)
