When activating plug-ins, domain changes
-
Hello, I am Daniel Yun from South Korea.
I am a beginner in using WordPress and I have some questions using it.
I am planning on upgrading to Creator subscriptions and I was going through some plug-ins.
Here is my question, currently I am using testkitronyx2.wordpress.com domain but when I activate some plug-ins, my domain changes to testkitronyx2.wpcomstaging.com
Is there any ways to keep my testkitronyx2.wordpress.com or do I have to use the wpcomstaging.com domain.
Sincerely
WP.com: Yes
Jetpack: No
Correct account: YesThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hey Daniel!
With the creator plan, you can start using plugins and/or 3rd party themes. Part of this functionality means your website is transitioned to different servers than what you had on any of the lower plans. The default domain switches to that “WPcomstaging” domain as part of the move. They functionally work the same, but unfortunately this means you can’t have the “WordPress.com” domain over the “WPcomstaging” domain once you activate plug ins.
However, as part of the Creator plan WordPress.com offers you a custom domain for free for one year, so you can add the custom domain that you want and then set it as the site’s primary domain. You may want to take advantage of that, and I’ve added a link below that will walk you through those steps.
Hope that helps!
