Hi there!
You can register a custom domain by heading to the Domains page in WordPress.com:
https://wordpress.com/domains/From that page, Register a New Domain and follow the steps on screen. :) The domain you register will ‘cover up’ the underlying .wordpress.com domain and is what visitors to your site will be directed to.
Let me know if you have any extra questions on that. I’ll be happy to help further.

Thank you. I’ve done just that and registered elenalily.com but now every time I type in the domain to my browser it keeps saying it can’t find the server. As if the website doesn’t exist. Why is this happening? How can I fix this?

Hi there.
I’m able to view your site at elenalily.com. Here’s a screenshot of what I’m seeing when visiting that address:
https://cloudup.com/cRtC9yffR8XWhen a domain is registered, there can be few hours of propagation time before a site is viewable at the new domain. Unfortunately, we have no control over this as it all depends on how often your internet service provider updates their records. Please rest assured that you look to be all set on my end and that everything is proceeding normally with your domain.
Clearing your browser’s cache and cookies may help speed up the process of being able to view your site:
