When did everything change to a paid service?
-
I have blogs on the WordPress platform and just this morning found out the hard way that I no longer have admin access to the media that I have been adding over the past two years. One is a personal blog, one a ministry blog, and one a school blog for the classes I teach. When did everything change? VERY DISAPPOINTING!! My sites are jeffsearcy.wordpress.com, servantwarriorministries.wordpress.com, mrsearcysblog.wordpress.com. I understand the need to make money. However, I no longer can access all of my information and do not have the monetary monetary resources to now access my information. Any assistance you can provide would be awesome! Thanks in advance for your help.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Please be specific. What are you not able to access?
By the way, WordPress.com subdomains are free. You needn’t pay to use a WordPress.com subdomain. Please have a look at WordPress.com Pricing.

I am not able to access the Admin on one of the blogs, thus not able to access the media or other aspects of the blog.

Hi @mrjeffsearcy, what are you missing? You should be able to administer the site through My Sites or through http://mrsearcysblog.wordpress.com/wp-admin/ .
If you’re seeing some kind of pay prompt instead, please get a screenshot so we can take a look — that certainly isn’t our intention.

Good morning. Thank you for the replies. Also, thank you for the admin link. Starting yesterday, the “WP Admin” option is no longer in the menu options when I go into the mrsearcysblog site. It is usually the last option on the left side navigation. I can access the admin through the link you gave. What prompted my question about paid service was the plan options that came up when I logged in yesterday. Couple that with no longer having the Admin menu option, I was under the impression that being able to add media, etc…was now a paid option. I am SO glad to hear that’s not the case. I have recommended to many of my teaching colleagues to use WordPress for their class sites. I use you guys for all my personal blogs and sites. It’s an awesome product for those of us who are a bit short on cash but want to have an avenue to reach the masses.
I will be glad to send you a screen shot of what I get when i go into the site, as it relates to navigation on my teaching blog, if you like. Thanks again. Mr. S -
Hi @mrjeffsearcy, thanks for recommending the people you know. :) We definitely plan on keeping free options here.
If you’ve had a WP Admin link in the past, it should still be the last link in the menu. You’re also welcome to bookmark the link directly if that’s easier. But if you aren’t seeing the wp-admin link can you send a link to the page where you’re looking? I would assume you’re clicking on “My Sites” either from WordPress.com or from your site.
