When do domains actually start to work
-
Yes it was indeed my fault and at my end :P, I think Barclays were concerned if it was me, with all my on-line spending so put a cap on my card to make sure it was not fraud. Anyway I now have the domain now, but wondering when it will actually work, because as of yet, neither do…www. lieutenant-uhura.com/ and http://www.lieutenantuhura.wordpress.com.

http://lieutenant-uhura.com/ appears to be working properly.
It can take domain changes up to 72 hours (though usually much less) to propagate to your ISP. Unfortunately, we have no control over this as it all depends on how often your ISP refreshes their DNS cache.
