When does my new domain become available?

  I set up my blog in wordpress.com. I then did the online pay $15 to use wordsbybob.com instead of wordsbybob.wordpress.com.
  Does it take some time before this is available? I got the PayPal email that I had used 15 credits or dollars.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi,

  It looks like you’ve purchased credits but haven’t yet used them to buy the upgrade. Visit the Upgrades / Domains tab of your dashboard, type in the domain name you’d like, and follow the prompts from there.

  It can take a little while before a new domain name works everywhere due to DNS propagation delays. Usually that’s only a few hours, often less, occasionally longer.

  I just purchased the domain name upgrade and I have read about teh fact it may take a while for propagation. So does the fact that when I type in my domain name it goes to my wordpress site with “.wordpress” still there mean I am on the right track just need to wait for it to reconcile?
