When hitting 'publish' by accident

When I accidently auto publish a topic. Then realize the mistake and ‘unpublish it’ within 10 minutes or so… What happens on the other end of this? I am curious about what will happen for those who suscribe by email and such.
Do they still get to read the post in its ‘cached’ form?I got a comment on one of my posts that I unpublished.. I replied to the comment… Will my friend be able to receive the reply?

Those who have subscribed will receive it. Those who use feedreaders who received it earlier will simply refresh and find it’s no longer available. When you do publish the post the person whose comment you replied to will be able to view your reply and if they subscribe to comments by feedreader then they will receive it.

If it’s any consolation I have done this many times. The last time I did this I published a post I had not yet actually written anything. It only contained the links I wanted to include but when the phone rang, I clicked “publish” instead of “save draft” NARG! Interestingly enough I did not accidentally publish before we had a “preview” function — only after we did! Not to worry your readers will forgive you.
