If you’re okay with us helping you in English, please provide more information. Which widgets? Do you add them via the Customizer of via Appearance ->Widgets? When you say inactive, do you mean they get moved to the inactive widgets area?

I do this: Appearance-Widgets-Text. I add my Google calendar in this widget. Them I can see perfectly my widget in my page. and then later my widget go AUTOMATICALLY to inactive area. I repeat this every time…And always is the same mistake..
I have change many times the theme of my page, but that is not the problem.

  • I have change many times the theme of my page, but that is not the problem.

Does this happen only after you change a theme, or does it happen even when you’ve had the same theme for a while already? I ask because this is exactly what will happen during a theme change – if your new theme is missing a widget area your old theme had, widgets from that widget area get moved to inactive during the theme change.

This happen even when I have the same theme for a while already. for example today I have added again the widget, because two days before I put it, and today again the widget is INACTIVE..(SORRY about my english, I am learning ;-).

  • No need to apologise :)

I have no idea what could be causing this if it’s not a theme change, so I’m going to tag this for staff. Please be patient a little longer until they respond.

Could you tell us which widget specifically this is? The one you had to put back today?

“Text ” Widget, where I have my google calendar.

  • Oh, sorry. You said before :)

I’ve tagged the thread, so just wait for a staff member to respond.

Ok, thank you very much! I hope your news! good bye

  • Hi @smartapartmentsmadrid , I can confirm several “switch theme” events over the past few days, and several times before that as well. If you aren’t doing that, let us know and we’ll troubleshoot from there.

To clarify, though, activating a theme can automatically deactivate widgets.

I recommend settling on a theme (perhaps Stay might interest you?), then setting up widgets.

Or, if you want to test different themes, consider creating a second site for testing so the first site is not affected.

Let us know if you need more help!

Hi Supernova, I have changed in the past my theme (thinking that the problem could be the specific theme) but always I have the same problem).
I have tried with the theme Stay too..
Yesterday again, I put the widget (TEXT) , and today I can see the is working, by the moment two days…I will let you know when that widget will go automatically to INACTIVE ..
    Regards and thank you!

  • Okay, I’ve wondered if you’re accidentally changing themes somehow. I don’t see any theme changes today, though, so that’s good!

Let us know if you have any more trouble with this.
