When I add an RSS Widget, my sidebar disappears??

I am able to add an RSS, well it seems to save it, but it gets rid of my sidebar containing my categories, pages and Blogroll. Then when I go to see my RSS, I can’t actually find it?!?! Someone help me with this RSS stuff please?
