When I enter a title for my link, why does the URL remain the title?

For this post, http://planetarymotion.wordpress.com/2014/09/02/opportunity-to-be-reformatted/, when I tried to create a title for my link, the URL title remained. What can I do to fix this? Is anyone else having this problem?

Hi,
How are you changing the title of the post? Are you using the new editor (Beep Beep Boop) or the old editor?
If you are using the new editor, can you try using the old editor instead which can be found in the Dashboard under Posts > All Posts then choose the post you want and click Edit?Alternatively, can you also try doing Quick Edit in the Dashboard under Posts > All Posts?

Just to add to Honey’s thoughts–had you already published the page?
If so changing the title after that point won’t automatically change the URL. If you go to the dashboard editor as Honey describes, there is an “edit” button under the title. If you click it you change the URL of the post there.
Keep in mind that when you change the URL anyone using the old URL will end up on a “page not found” page. So if you’ve already shared the post, make this change with caution.

Just to clarify, I am trying to edit the title of the hyperlink rather than the title of the entire post. I tried using both the old editor and the new editor, and neither option worked. When I try using the Insert/Edit Link button and enter the title for the URL, the URL remains the hyperlink for the link rather than the title that I submitted. The quick edit only allows me to edit the actual title of the post, rather than the title of the hyperlink. Any other ideas? :(

In Quick Edit, the field called Slug is your hyperlink.
