  Hi there,

  Please make sure that you’ve unzipped the export file you got from your WordPress.com site. The WordPress exporter uses the .xml files inside the .zip folder, not the .zip folder itself.

  Beyond that, please ask for help with this in the self-hosted WordPress forums at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

  Your new site is not hosted on our servers, so we have no control over it. The WordPress software you’re now using also doesn’t work exactly the same as the version you were using here on WordPress.com, so we’re not able to help you with issues on the new site in this forum.
