When i install jetpack it never asks me for my wordpress.com account.

I am working on my wordpress website on my computer (localhost). I created a wordpress.com account but I do not see how I can link that account to the localhost website. I need this to activate Jetpack (popular tabs plugin). When i install jetpack it never asks me for my wordpress.com account.
Not sure where the missing step is. Please help.

I suggest looking for an answer to your question here first. http://jetpack.me/support/ If you do not find one then the Jetpack forum is at WordPress.org http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/jetpack If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.org, click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post there.

We do not provide support for any local installs of WordPress.ORG software here at WordPress.COM. WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate and support for local installs of WordPress.ORG software is provided here http://wordpress.ORG/support/

Thanks I did look in both those areas before I posted here. I have a username as i mentioned above but I need to have my localhost blog “talk” to the account and I am not sure wher eI do that.

Hi there, Jetpack requires a publicly accessible URL to function, so it cannot currently be activated on a local WordPress.org installation. You can read more about what you need to run Jetpack here: http://jetpack.me/support/#requirements
