when I paste a url WP now adds an "[embed]" tag

is there a way to disable that? thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
That’s a VIP hosted blog and we don’t provide support for it here. http://vip.wordpress.com/ You must have a support link in your dashboard somewhere for VIP support that blinks to https://wordpressvip.zendesk.com/ -
-
I’m not VIP and I’ve got the same problem. Whenever I paste in a URL, it automatically posts [embed] before and [/embed] after. It’s a pain to remove every time.

I know have the same problem too.
[embed]link[embed]It’s really annoying!

Everybody does. I’m sure it’s a “Feature” not a “Bug” but it is annoying. It has to be manually stripped out or the YouTube shortcode doesn’t work.

Our developers are currently working on the [embed] issue for links, and it should be resolved soon, if it isn’t already.

Well, darn, looks like I spoke to soon. When I paste into the quick draft box in my dashboard, there’s no [embed], but it’s still there when I paste in a standard new post
