When I pd to remove ads, didn't I also get rid of "recommended for you"s?!!
-
I paid $30 to remove ads from my site (www.deemallon.wordpress.com) and NOW I see these awful blocks of pix with various headings — “recommended for you” or “you might also enjoy”. They look terrible. And I thought I shelled out money to stop intrusive, terrible-looking things like this.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there!
I don’t currently see anything on your site that says “Recommended for you” or “You might also enjoy”. Can you take a screenshot of what you’re seeing so I can get this straightened out for you? You can just upload it to your Media Library and I’ll be able to see it from there!

just took screen shot and will upload to library now. The boxes of ads show up when I am reading comments.

Thanks for that screenshot! I took a look at the comment thread in question:
I’m not seeing the “You Might Like” section. It looks like a browser extension may be inserting this.
Can you check what extensions you have installed in your browser? In the newest version of Firefox, you can find your add-ons by clicking on the three horizontal lines on the right side of your menu bar, then selecting the image of the puzzle piece, which says “Add-Ons” underneath it.
Let me know if you find the extension that’s causing this! Or let me know which extensions you have and I can let you know which ones to try disabling to see if the ads go away.

I have four – youtube something or other; feedly; AD BLOCK; and Logitech SetPoint 6.5. I really would LOVE to figure this out. When I opened this thread just now, there were our exchanges sitting atop a gallery of six pictures with the heading, “From Around the Web”.

Feedly and Logitech shouldn’t be causing this. Can you tell me exactly what the AdBlock and Youtube add-ons are? If you could, just take a screenshot of the add-on info, which you can find by clicking on the More link next to the add-on:
Can you also check your plugins? You can find this on the same page as your Add-Ons (Extensions):
Let me know what you find!

Just uploaded the requested screen shots — of YouTube and AdBlock, as well as a full screen of extensions.
I loaded them up in media at my blog, not sure what the cloud links above were for?
Thank you for your help!

Thanks for those screenshots! I don’t see anything there that would be causing the advertisements to display. However the blocks of ‘recommended links’ definitely look like plugin behavior.
I did some searching and they sound really similar to some functionality supported by Disqus. Do you happen to have any software for Disqus installed on your computer or in your browser? Or are you logged into a Disqus account?
I would suggest running an antivirus scan and an anti-malware scan, or having someone take a look at your computer for you.
