When I removed my featured image, why is it still on my Facebook thumbnail?

I featured an image and it was picked up as a thumbnail by Facebook. I later decided to change that image. The featured image is no longer on my page, but when I share by pressing the Facebook button, I still see the original image as the thumbail. Is there any way to remove that thumbnail image seen on Facebook?

Hi there,
When did you update the blog post to the newer version – before or after you linked to the post on Facebook? If you change a post on your blog after you post a link to it on Facebook, that teaser text will not automatically update on Facebook’s end.
If you made your changes before you posted it to Facebook, can you give me a screenshot of the affected post on Facebook (unless you want to link to it here) and let me know what post on your blog you linked to? Please upload the screenshot to your Media > Library page.

I posted to Facebook, and then removed the photo. However, I’ve decided to leave that particular photo. On the other hand, someone also posted another of my posts to Facebook, and after that, I added a photo. And Facebook won’t recognize the featured photo now. So it seems that once you post to Facebook, you’re stuck with whatever (photo or not) was on that first time? Is there any way to fix this?

I was wondering which post you were talking about? I was looking through and I saw that you added a Feature Image to the post titled: “Treasury of Desserts”. When I tried to share your post on Facebook, I did see the featured image as seen in the screenshot below:
I also put the post in the Facebook Debug tool and found that it is pulling your image now:
It might take some time for Facebook to update the post. You can always re-share the post now, and the Featured Image should show up.

I just added an image to “Nyam Dis”. This is the post I was referring to. Sorry. I should have mentioned it in my last post. It’s in the Fiction category.

Hi there,
The reason the image is not appearing is that it is too small. Facebook asks that you use an image that’s at least 200×200 px.

Well, that image is 500 x 375. But it seems to have resolved itself.
