When I share blog link to twitter, old site title/page title displayed.

I’ve updated my site identity (Title and tagline), but when I link to my blog elsewhere, it shows old info rather than the updated info. I’ve changed themes (free) a few times, currently using baskerville. I’m not nearly as proud of my old site identity as I am my new one, to the point that I’d rather just not link it. Attempted emptying google chrome cache and cookies to no effect. It’s been two days – is this problem my end or wp end?

    Thanks

    Hi there,

Social networks, such as Twitter, can sometimes hold onto older information about a site if it’s been shared through their platform before. If you manually submit and preview your site through the following validator, it’s usually enough to prompt Twitter to fetch the very latest information about your site:

    https://cards-dev.twitter.com/validator

Facebook has a similar tool, if you’re also facing the same issue there:

    https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/

Through Facebook’s tool, you’ll need to enter your site’s URL and then choose the option to “Scrape Again”.

Let me know if the above helps out or if you have any further questions!

Thank you so much that did the trick! Bookmarked the tools…

Perfect! :) You know where to find us if anything else comes up too.
