When I update a post, will my followers receive an email message?

  When I update a post, will my followers receive an emailed notification? I want my followers to receive an email when I publish a NEW post, but not when I update a published post. How can I ensure I’m not sending them too many emails?

  good question on the new posts vs. updated posts; the articles in support are quite specific in their language that followers get email when you put up a *new post;
