when I update I get the old and new versions are saved

  I read through to find the most recent update and delete the other one, well I deleted what I thought was the older version. The one I kept showed up on my screen, then disappeared! I LOST 10 HOURS OF WORK. I’M PISSED. CAN YOU JUST GET ONE VERSION WORKING “BUG FREE” AND BE HAPPY WITH IT?
