When on Settings / reading I want reduce the number of items on my home page

  Please correct. I want to see only these three items on my main web page and if more than use CATEGORY / Portraits . Now whatever category I use I see the same items on each category again.

  How to reduce the number items only on main page. If I do it on Setting/reading, it reduces all items on all categories.

  Changing that settings changes it for all pages, including category, archive, tag, etc.

  But question was, how to reduce the number of items to be shown only on a Home page, instead to all other categories?
