When posting How to get Categories to default to “All Categories”?

How do I get it to Show “All Categories” under the Post area as our default?
It just recently started defaulting to “Most Used” Categories in this new WP setup.

This is a real pain, because I have a couple of new contributors & I’m spending all my time helping them with all your glitches in this new WP setup.
My income from my Real Work is hurting!!!
    Thank you for your help.

PS. I really rather just get rid of this useless “Most Used” Categories default.

You cannot as there is no setting for that. People will just have to click on the “show all” link to get the whole enchilada.

When this new WordPress setup was first changed it defaulted to “All Categories” but after a week or so it changed.
In addition the same new WordPress setup used for those who are hosting their own site (wordpress.org) default is “All Categories”. That’s as it should be.

If they don’t get their act together I’m moving everything over to Blogger where I also have an account.

And no word count yet, etc., etc.
They should really have tested this before they changed.

    I’m really PO’d

All Categories is more useful; hope they can fix that.

any luck? i really want to show all!

It was a choice WordPress obviously made to default to “most used” and only WordPress can change it, or give a reason why they won’t. My suggestion would be to contact support and ask them.

Thanks, I was _finally_ able to get through to them just a few minutes ago.
I have a quite a few questions & problems but just limited to the “All Categories” problem and the troublesome “Save” function.
I have 5 writers with the basically the same problems using different OS (Operating Systems) and Browsers.

I wish they kept the old setup. At least it worked. The only advantage I found so far is that I can add more RSS and Text widgets. But that could have been added to the old setup.

There’s an old adage that these youngster have yet to learn: “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!”

This crap is taking away from my paying work and other vital issues.
I have limited energy due to CFS (I am functioning at about 10% of what I used to do). So these bugs are robbing me of valuable time.

One thing is certain, if it isn’t fixed soon I’m going to switch & make our blogspot
blog with the same name, our main Blog.

    Thanks to all who replied.

    Dang,
I tried to correct an error & now have 2 replies instead of one. Any way to erase the one dated “April 25th, 2008 at 6:55 pm”?
