When sharing on FB or TW a new version of an earlier post, how can I avoid displaying unwanted old t

When sharing on FB or TW an overhauled and updated version of an earlier post (it was my first one) with a different title, a title that had been subsequently slightly amended in a final version, and what is really unacceptable, the incipit of the earleir post shows up in my State or Twit, though by clicking on the link the new post shows up correctly.
I trashed my old post and tried again but the problem remained.
    What I am doing wrong?
Is there something I can do to resolve?

There’s no way I would ever trash a published post and break the link in the SERPs (search engine page results). I care far more about what’s in search engines than I do about what’s in social networks.

I do not know how to help with this Facebook issue. I tagged this thread with modlook for Staff help. Please subscribe to it so you are notified when they respond. To subscribe look in the sidebar of this thread, find the subscribe to topics link and click it.

What is the URL of that post?

  • Hi @apelle44, those services use caching and it’s likely the old title is still cached. If you’ll send a link, we’ll see if there’s anything we can do on our end. Cheers :)
