When sharing public blog, text says it's still private, old image shows up

Hello! I’ve recently moved my blog from a private space back into the public space – but every time someone tries to share my homepage, the link shows an old image (from last year) and the text says that it’s still a private blog. Any idea how to resolve this?

Hi there!
Do you mean on Facebook? I tried it and saw the “protected” text. Sometimes they’ll hang onto old info, so they have this tool for forcing it to update: https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/og/object/
I pasted your blog URL into the box and clicked the “fetch new” button and that refreshed it and I see it sharing as expected now. :)
Did that fix it on your end too?

Though now there’s no image at all to accompany the link – do you think that’s because of the theme, or is it another glitch I could fix?

Great!
To have an image display there, go to your wp-admin and upload one under Settings > General (at the top right of the page in the Blog Icon/Picture area).

After you add it, you may need to do the “scrape new” thing in the Facebook debugger again to get it to update and display.
