When trying to make a new post, it's in the HTML instead of visual?

  How can I switch it back to visual as primary?

  There are two tabs on the Write Post box: Visual and Text. Click Visual.

  There is no way to set the HTML editor as your editor by default and I think that’s what you are looking for. You will have to use the HTML tab directly above the right side of the editing area when creating posts and pages. http://en.support.files.wordpress.com/2009/07/texteditor.png?w=688&h=125

  If the Visual Editor is absent from view, please don’t panic. This is most likely due to a browser cache error. See here for what to do http://en.support.wordpress.com/missing-visual-editor/
