When will gallery widgets start working properly
-
I have read many forum threads and support help threads and they all seem to just keep telling people to add gallery widgets through appearance ~ Widgets etc not through customize. Okay so I know this but I am still waiting for the gallery widget to start working again. It hasn’t worked at all for some time and I am setting it up properly. It won’t let me add images.
Does somebody have an answer? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

According to Staff, there was a recent fix pushed out to the Gallery Widget so that it should work in the Customizer. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/error-on-gallery-widget?replies=4#post-2351138
But what i understand from your post is that you can’t add new images from within Dashboard>Appearance>Widgets>Gallery Widgets, correct? If so,
1) What browser are you using?
2) What happens when you click on the “Choose Images” button?
3) What happens when you click on the “Add to Gallery” button? -

This thread is not about that email widget at all. Please do not disrespect other bloggers who post threads by posting off topic into them. Please use this link https://en.forums.wordpress.com/?new=1 so you can copy and paste your text into a new thread where you will get the help you need. -

Are you trying to add images while you are in the WP Customerizer or in the Dashboard>Appearance>Widgets>Gallery Widget?
If in the Customizer, try from the Dashboard>Appearance>Widgets.
If neither of those work for you, please check the following:
1. That in Dashboard>Appearance>Widgets, the Accessibility mode is not enabled (under “Screen Options” in the upper right corner of your browser window)
2. That your browser is set to allow 3rd party cookies.
3. Check the other browser troubleshooting tips here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/If you are still not able to add images to the Gallery widget, please post back here.
(Sorry for the delay-holiday here)

Hi Jennifer,
I’m not sure what happened but as I said I suddenly lost my entire right sidebar widgets. I set them all up again and guess what the gallery widgets worked!!!
Really weird, but I’m happy everything is working now.
Thanks for your help.Amanda (hopscotchmia)

It seems that Accessibility mode is currently interfering with adding images to the Gallery in Dashboard>Appearance>Gallery widget.
Please check and make sure that you don’t have Accessibility mode enabled under Screen options on the Widgets page.
Also, it may be worthwhile removing and then re-adding the widget, as this is what solved the problem for the OP here.
I’m also going to tag the thread I previously linked to for a Staff followup: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/error-on-gallery-widget?replies=4#post-2351138
