When will my blog disappear into the ether?

  I am writing my blog for my grandchildren. I am 67. When I die, what will happen to my blog? Will it disappear after a certain number of years?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  No it’ll be around forever (or at least until WordPress shuts down which I suspect will never happen).

  Thanks. Is it better (in any way except that it’s got a shorter address) if I “upgrade” my blog? Seriously, what are the benefits to me? It helps wordpress…

  Depends what upgrade you’re talking about as their are several. For what you probably need it for you probably don’t need to upgrade.

  There are upgrades for making it look exactly the way you want it to look, e.g. CSS Upgrade, or you can purchase your own domain name, or if you need more space to upload files etc.

  I for one haven’t found the need to upgrade any part of my blog yet.
