When will the domain be available again?

Greetings,
I canceled the domain ‘the-socio.com’ a while ago and I wanted to create it on bluehost, but it is still active. Do you know how many days it will take until I can create it on bluehost? or is there any other suggestions that you have for this issue?

Hi there,
First, you have to know that after cancellation, there is no guarantee the domain will become available to register somewhere else, and you may not be able to get it back.
The domain takes 90 days (roughly) to be released.
The best way might have been keeping the domain with WordPress.com and pointing it to BlueHost or transfer it there.
I suggest contacting the support staff to see if you can revoke the cancellation and proceed with one of the two solutions I mentioned above. To contact the support staff add the tag modlook the right sidebar of this topic.

Thank you fstat. If that’s the case then I prefer keeping the domain in WordPress for now. I added the tag and will wait for the response from the support team.

Hi there,
I see you cancelled the domain on the same day it was registered. In that case the holding period before the domain is released is only a few days. In this case it is not possible to restore this domain any more, which means we’ve already asked the registry to delete and release the domain.
My only suggestion is to start checking at Bluehost on a daily basis if you’re able to register the domain there. As soon as the domain is released you should be able to, but we don’t have any control over this any more.
