When will there be more widgets and what will there be?

    I think WordPress is without a doubt the best blogging service, I’ve tried more or less all the others.

    However I think WordPress is seriously lacking in choice of widgets. When will there be more and what widgets will they be?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Your guess is as good as anyone else’s. There have been a number of useful widget rolled out over the past month or so, so perhaps they aren’t done yet, or perhaps they are. Only staff knows for sure, and then never say anything. It is always a surprise.

    You can add a great variety of widgets by using text widgets and code from other widget design sites. There are several threads on widgets here, one of them having about 100 entries.

    I’ve tried that but it doesn’t work. I’ve tried adding a rotating globe with locations of interest (very cool) and a beautiful analogue clock the way you describe but the text widget wouldn’t accept the code… Maybe these widgets are not for wordpress.com blogs but I think wordpress.org ones are more ‘widget-friendly’ which kinda sucks… The new picture widget is really cool though. I only yesterday added an animated picture to celebrate my 2,000 hits!! Thank you for that!!
