When/why is the link generated by date vs. by title words
-
All my blog posts links are by title words, eg:
http://keycaptchaured.wordpress.com/2011/08/30/my-google-private-profile-first-published-then-dumped/And one is by date:
http://keycaptchaured.wordpress.com/2011/08/09/113/Why and when does latter happen (by date)?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
Both are by date – that is the – /2011/08/09/ – & – /2011/08/30/ –
the first example you gave a title to the Post it was Posted on Aug 30, 2011 – the second one was not given a title by you and was Posted on Aug 9,2011 – that is where the number came from (no title)
-
113 is the post ID# and I’m at a loss as to why it posted with that instead of the title in the permalink. Did you perhaps publish the post without a title and then go back in and add the title? If you publish a post without a title, then the system will use the post ID# instead.

Huh, I did not record what I was doing
This is quite plausible explanation
So, it is possible to publish articles without titles?
This might be useful know-how -
You can publish posts without titles, but wp.com will automatically give them a title with a non-descriptive number. If you expect to get readers then it is better to make good descriptive titles for posts.
I’m not sure but this may be somehow connected to this previous thread of yours:
