Where are my drafts going?
-
I am new to WP and blogging, so perhaps this is just a learning curve issue, but I am having problems with my drafts disappearing before I publish. First, I tried to find the draft from Autosave because I thought I had been able to do that previously. When that failed, I re-wrote my post from scratch, added photographs, etc, then used the Save button to save it as a draft. That was 2 days ago. When I returned to add to it today, there was no draft listed on my dashboard.
Is it just me, or is there a problem?

Hi. Check your posts AND your pages, just in case. Also these support docs might be of use: more info on drafts and also on autosave:

Also at the top of the post listing page (posts > posts) you can click on the link that says , “drafts” and it will bring up only posts that are still in draft.

Thank you both for responding. I found them under Pages as airodyssey suggested. Posts > Drafts was where I had expected to find them. I hadn’t known that they would be moved after a certain amount of time.
Thanks again. -
They should NEVER be moved unless you do it yourself. All pages and posts are listed under Pages and Posts, whether they have been published or not.

Thanks, I didn’t know about Pages. I thought I was making Posts, but I am new to this and still figuring things out, mostly through trial and error.

In case this ever happens again, this post explains what to do to locate a lost page or post and restore it where possible. WordPress: Recovering a lost blog post or page http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2010/03/21/wordpress-recovering-a-lost-blog-post-or-page/ -
@Timethief – thanks for the links. That is a great explanation of the differences between Pages and Posts.
My initial blog entry is a Post but somehow (I have no clue) I managed to make my second as a Page. Is there an easy way to convert it into a Post?
