Where are my files and Database?

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi again!

I am new to WordPress.com but have WordPress.org installed on a domain with a different host. I am trying to troubleshoot my domain here which is sudopeng.wordpress.com but no idea where the error_log, .htaccess, or phh version are.

    Help, please?

I also have an unanswered post titled Header Image if you are free to look. This question is related the the issue I am having there.

    Thank you!

    Hopefully I did this right!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hey sudopeng,

At WordPress.com, the users don’t get the access to the database or any PHP files. The WordPress.com team takes care of everything.

To maintain a secure environment, you only add Custom CSS if you at least have a Premium Plan.

There is no database access to sites like http://knowledgerent.wordpress.com/ hosted by WordPress.COM. For that access you need a WordPress.ORG software install.

You access your dashboard here http://sudopeng.wordpress.com//wp-admin/

    WP Admin Dashboard

WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

Exactly what do you mean by “troubleshoot my domain “?
    What is your end goal?

    Thank you Ravichahar and timetheif,

I may go for an upgraded plan once I get the hang of things.

    My goal is :
I am attempting to play around with building a website. I have the Goran theme and I am at the customize > Header image > Current image section. The current image section shows the image I want. However, when I go to the website I do not see it. I was trying to trouble shoot a bit by looking it up on a proxy server to see if it was cache related but no luck. Next, I tried to purposely get a 404 page by going to sudopeng.wordpress.com/error and, behold! The image I want appears.

Any idea why it wouldn’t show up on the actual URL?

I uploaded the image about 27 hours ago.

    Thanks in advance!

  • Hi there,

I see that you have switched to the Radcliffe 2 theme and the header image of a penguin is displaying correctly.

If you have any other questions, just let me know and I’ll be happy to help.
