Where are my paragraphs?
-
All my paragraphs were collapsed together. All my content has been forced into one big paragraph. What happened?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
Did this happen on a particular post? Please provide the post or page URL, and if it’s occurring only in the editor, then a screen shot would be helpful.
-
I don’t know how to do a screenshot. It happens in editing as well as the preview. When I updated to the “new posting experience,” that is the result I got!
-
That explains it. You’d best avoid the bleeping bleep bleep bloop experience for now. It appears to be full of bugs.

A lot of folks have reported disappearance of drafts, published posts, and small pets with that thing. The fact that it takes forever to load is enough reason to avoid it completely.
-
Hahaha. Thanks. I just went through & divided the paragraphs again so I can finish the story. Thank you!

If you are copying and pasting from a word processing document like Microsoft WORD please read this https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/the-paste-as-word-button-has-been-removed-from-the-visual-editor?replies=3
If you copy and paste text from somewhere else, you may discover that it does not always appear exactly as you would expect. If you use the Paste as text button then a special cleanup process will run to remove any special formatting and HTML tags that may otherwise change your text. http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#pasting-text
Blog editors and word processors are not the same and do not work the same way. The web standard is one blank line only, so you cannot add more blank lines by pressing return repeatedly like you would do with a typewriter or in a word processing application. If you want to learn how to format and space your posts and pages see:
http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2011/09/13/wordpress-formatting-and-spacing/
See also: http://en.support.wordpress.com/advanced-html/P.S. When you create a new post, always make sure the Format tool is set to Paragraph before you start typing. It’s in the Visual editor Row 2 first position “style”. See the illustration here http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#row-2 If you forget to do that then edit the post, highlight all in the Visual editor, select Paragraph from the Format tool, switch editor to Text then switch back to Visual and click Update.

Please be sure you have enabled this setting:

_ WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically
“save changes”Also note that this issue has nothing whatsoever to do with using the new editor.

Thanks for the help. My story was not copied from elsewhere, but I didn’t know anything about formatting. I just always start typing & I’ve never had a problem.
-
Have you published another post after changing this setting (“_ WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically
“save changes”) on the Reading page?
