Where are my saved drafts?
-
I was working on a post. The autosave was working and I also clicked save as draft periodically. Now – both revisions that are available show no words! HELP!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Unfortunately, this happens frequently if you use the New Post button on the grey admin bar. You MIGHT be able to use the back arrow to get to your text. If that doesn’t work, I’m afraid you’re out of luck and will have to start again. Don’t ever use that button, it causes all kinds of problems.

Hey there,
I can see three posts in your trash. Were you having trouble with those in particular? I do see a similar one currently published. Were you able to sort things out?
In the future, please avoid editing your posts in different browser tabs. This prevents different versions of your posts from being auto-saved. Let me know if you need further help! Thanks.

The two in the trash were revisions from the lost product. I did not use multiple browsers when creating or editing the original post. The save feature just flat out failed. In addition to making sure I create my new posts from my dashboard rather than the home menu, I have also reverted to the practice of writing in Word and then copying it into the text field here in WordPress to make sure my work doesn’t get lost again.

Hi there!
Really sorry that this had happened. Indeed it’s a good idea to have a local copy of your post in case things don’t go as planned.
For the trouble, I’ve given you 30 free credits that you can use towards any upgrade in our store (worth $30 or below).

I’m having the same problem – where do I find my saved drafts? It us very frustrating to write a post, save it and try to continue it later and it’s nowhere to be found.
Also, why does it take do long to load each photo?
Thanks -
Hey Garabee,
where do I find my saved drafts? It us very frustrating to write a post, save it and try to continue it later and it’s nowhere to be found.
You should be able to see all your drafts here:
https://magiccarpettravel.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_status=draft&post_type=post
Is there a particular draft that you’ve lost? Can you provide more details about it?
Also, why does it take do long to load each photo?
I experienced no trouble loading your photos as I viewed your site. Did you mean uploading photos? Loading or uploading images depends on a few factors such as your Internet connection and the image file size.
I do see that many of the images in your Media Library are quite large, and most likely this is what’s causing them to load slowly. To speed things up, try optimizing your images by following this guide:
Hope that helps! If you need anything else, please don’t hesitate to contact us again. Thanks!

Thank you – however a post I wrote yesterday “Walks and Waterfalls” and supposedly saved, is not there. Hope you can find it for me.

Hi Garabee,
Sorry to hear about this. I’m not able to find the draft, unfortunately. Was it a very long post? To test if you’re able to save drafts, could you create one really quick so I can check it out?
In the future, you may want to write your posts in a word processor prior to publishing it on your blog. Alternately, setting a blog post to private and publishing it is also a good way of saving posts that you want to come back to.

Looking forward to hearing back from you. Cheers! :)
