Where can I find my Plugins directory?
-
I have downloaded a couple plugins but cannot seem to find either a wp-content folder or Plugins folder in my Dashboard. It is not listed under Appearances. Where can I upload or find these plugins that I have downloaded?
Thank you!

While plugins are common on self hosted WordPress sites, due to security concerns, they are not available on WordPress.com. There is more info regarding WordPress.com and plugins here:
However, we do have several built-in features that were inspired by many popular plugins. You might find what you want by searching for it at http://en.support.wordpress.com/
What feature are you looking to add with a plugin?
Also, for more information on the differences between WordPress.com and self-hosted WordPress sites, please see:

Thank you so much for your quick response, I appreciate it. On various forums that I’ve been reading, it does seem that others with plugins capability had something different going on – they were self hosted sites, OK.
Basically I’m looking to add social media buttons to the site, I figured this would be simple like a widget, but it’s not. And I want to add “Pin It” to some of the photos. Is that possible without plugins?

THAT I can help you with. We have a support page on setting up social media links:

Take a look through that page and let me know if you have any further questions. I’ll be happy to help.
