Hi! I’m sorry, but I’m not really sure what you mean. Could you please detail what you’re trying to do? Are you trying to map a domain to your WordPress.com blog?

Just let us know what you want to do, and we’ll be happy to help. :)

Sorry, I am not well versed in this myself. I have a website which tells me that to direct my blog to a page there I have to “To point the domain name ‘website.com’ to WordPress.com website, you just need to update the A records of the domain name to their IP address.” I have seen wordpress does not use static IP’s. But I’m still trying to figure out how to get my blog to publish to my website as well as the wordpress.com site.

Thanks for explaining what you’re trying to do, and don’t worry, we’ll walk you through this in no time. I have a much better idea of how we can help you now.

Are you trying to setup a custom domain for your WordPress.com blog by following this guide?

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

If not, could you please link me to the page you are trying to follow? That’ll help me troubleshoot this a lot faster. :)

I didn’t realize it was going to be this difficult or complicated. All I really want is that when I publish posts on my WordPress.com blog that I can share them or export them or whatever the language is, so that they will automatically appear on my other website, hosted by ipage. It was their support chat that got me onto the DNS stuff and now I am completely frustrated.

Yeah, this stuff can be a little frustrating at times, but it’s all worth it when you figure it out in the end, isn’t it? :) Thank you for detailing what you’re trying to do.

Is the website you run at ipage a WordPress.ORG solution? Is it just a html page? If you link us to the sites in question we can probably give you a better idea of what you can do.

However, just based on what you have told us here, it seems like you could just grab the RSS feed from your WordPress.COM blog and display it on your self-hosted site on ipage –

I don’t think we need to go anywhere near DNS to do this! Hit us with more info and we’ll go from there. :)

OK. I think we are getting closer to what I want. I’m hoping that I can import the full look and content of my wordpress blog (expressionistcoffee.wordpress.com) into my website http://www.doyle-arts.com. I am currently revamping that website and now want to include that blog, look, graphics, and all, on a page on that site. When I tried a feed reader on my mock up, it appeared that all I got wat my text. What’s the next suggestion?

Right! What you want to do is definitely possible. The support article on Moving a Blog has this to say about transferring posts/pages between WordPress sites.

    1) In the old blog, go to Tools → Export and download the XML (WXR) file to your computer.

    2) In the new blog, go to Tools → Import → WordPress and upload the file you downloaded in step 1. Make sure that you choose the option to Download & import file attachments. This option will be available after you upload the file.

However, it sounds like you want to move your theme as well. If so, a Guided Transfer may be your best bet.

It’s a paid service, but it’s basically worry free. A WordPress.com Happiness Engineer will do all the transferring and configuring for you, and also provide you with two weeks of support for two weeks after the move. Given what you want to do, I would definitely consider this option.

I hope this response helped. Please don’t hesitate to ask any other questions you may have about this process. :)
