Where can I get human support?
-
We have a WordPress account, set up by someone as a last act before quitting. I have the passwords to get in but I can’t find any information about billing; how much? when? what surprises we should expect, etc.?
I have navigated through WordPress info for two hours and am not a scratch closer to finding out what I need. I don’t even know WHAT KIND OF ACCOUNT WE HAVE! I can get Go Daddy on the phone in less than a minute. And I just might do that soon if I don’t get any joy from the customer service here… -

Hi there,
Can you post a link to your site?
There are two different versions of WordPress (.com and .org). Each has a different support forum and documentation.
The forum you’ve posted in only provides support for sites hosted here at WordPress.com.
If you can post the url to your site, we’ll know which version you’re using.
Thanks :)

@Dribblingpensioner: That is not quite accurate…
@Corrigans2: Depending on the plan you have, there are different support possibilities. You might want to look here:
https://wordpress.com/help/contact
Thanks,
Nicolas

That’s a big blank page with “Contact Us” on the top, but no place to do so. I’ve landed on that page from about a dozen different directions today…
Thanks anyway.

I’m willing to believe that she set us up with a version that won’t include customer support of any meaningful type, but I’d like to know how to find out what we do have.
Do I need to upgrade or switch to another provider? Not enough info to know about the former, lots of ammo to suggest the latter.

Hi @corrigans2,
I saw the website you shared (https://corriganscbs.com/). I believe it is a self-hosted WordPress website.
This forum supports people having website/blogs hosted on WordPress.com. (Please consider looking at this link: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/) For self-hosted WordPress sites, there is a separate support forum. Here is the link: wordpress.org/support/
Please post your query on the WordPress.org support forum and I am sure you will get help from the volunteers. :)

The site appears to hosted here at WordPress.com.
A Happiness Engineer should be able to help @corrigans2 once they see this thread.

@ nicolanglais That is not quite accurate, it is a blank page
@ garysixtyeight I have already marked it for a happiness engineer

Hi there,
@corrigans2 – can you log into the username associated with the account in order to verify ownership? I cannot divulge much information without verification of ownership. if you have attempted to access the billing information from the account you are contacting us from, you won’t be able to see it.
Once you do log in, you can access the billing details here:
https://wordpress.com/me/purchases/billing
Otherwise, feel free to contact me here and I’d be happy to assist with anything else. Thanks!

As garysixtyeight said,

But I still have no idea how I would get in and add, delete or change anything on the page. The links that I follow to billing info lead to nothing helpful. I have no idea when we’re going to get billed or how much. And the support isn’t anything to get excited about. Or even stirred. I’m finding this ridiculous. -
I understand your frustration. However, there is not much we can do until you provide proof that you are the owner of the account. There is private information that we can not divulge due to security reasons. corrigans2 is not the account that owns corriganscbs.com.

Yes, it indeed is.
But I still have no idea how I would get in and add, delete or change anything on the page.
You will have to log out of your corrigans2 account and log into the WordPress.com account that owns the upgrades. That is the only way you’ll be able to change the billing information.
The links that I follow to billing info lead to nothing helpful.
This will only be useful if you’re logged into the correct account. Under your current account, you won’t be able to access the information you seek by clicking those links.
If you do not have access to the account that owns the upgrades, I would touch base with the former employee who set up the account before quitting and see if they still have the login credentials.
Otherwise, you could fill out our account recovery form, we’ll definitely get in touch with you as soon as possible. You can prove ownership if you have the transaction IDs for the upgrades, access to the email associated with the account, or the activation ID. If you have access to the credit card that was used to purchase the upgrades, you can retrieve the transaction ID.
Please visit our support page for more information on recovering your account.
Thanks,

Okay- I appear to have logged in in the right account. I’ll see what I can find out and come back here if I need more help.
-
Awesome! Yes, that is the correct account, so if you need any additional help, I’ll be happy to assist since ownership has been confirmed.
Thanks!
